1. Xavier McKinney, S, Alabama

The top safety in this year’s draft class, Xavier McKinney has a sky-high ceiling who has future star written all over him. He’s a good athlete and also has a high football I.Q. He has some natural skills that allow him to play cornerback such as his coverage instincts and athleticism. He can also make tackles in the open field or help in run support.

Similar to Winfield Jr., he can play both corner and safety and Pettine would be able to move him all over the field if needed.

McKinney will likely be drafted before the Packers are on the clock so they’d need to move up in order to select him. However, he’s ready to contribute immediately and can also blossom into a star down the field. Sounds like a win-win.
