Green Bay Packers: 5 Defensive Backs To Target In First Round of NFL Draft
5. Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU
Kristian Fulton is currently projected to go early in the second round of the draft, but he’s talented enough to be picked in the first round. He was the number one recruit coming out of Louisiana in 2015, but experienced an up-and-down career at LSU. He used someone else’s urine for a drug test in 2016 and was suspended for 19 months. Injuries to his finger and foot also slowed him down at times at LSU.
However, he showed his true ability last year by breaking up 14 passes, and reinstating the confidence in his ability.
Similar to all great corners, he has sky-high confidence in his ability to defend anyone. He doesn’t back down from the best wide receivers, instead, rising to the challenge. He has good hands to break up passes and also does a good job staying with receivers on his backpedal and opening his hips on their routes. He could be a good replacement for King after this season and can play on the outside opposite Alexander.
