Green Bay Packers: 4 Players Worth Trading Up For In 2020 NFL Draft
4. Patrick Queen, ILB, LSU
Patrick Queen is the cream of the inside linebacker crop in this year’s draft. He’s fast, he’s mean and, most importantly, he can play sideline to sideline. Queen is an impact player from Day 1 and would immediately make this team better.
The issue is Green Bay signed Kirksey to man the same position for the next two years. Kirksey is a good player when healthy, except he’s only played in nine total games over the past two seasons due to injury. In a defense that typically only plays one inside backer, it might seem like a waste to roster two starting-caliber players.
Of all the players on this list, it’s most likely the Packers move into the range Queen is expected to go (early 20s). The Packers could use their first-rounder and a couple of fourths (this year’s and next knowing they’ll be getting a compensation pick for each Bulaga and Martinez) to make such a deal happen. Queen has a sky-high ceiling and is certainly worth moving up for.
