3. Ross Blacklock, IDL, TCU

There are a couple of inside linebackers (Kenneth Murray or Patrick Queen) that have an outside chance of slipping to 30, and would also make sexier picks at 30th overall. However, with Kirksey in the mix, it’s fair to wonder how much of an impact they’d have in Year 1 considering how infrequent defensive coordinator Mike Pettine plays two inside linebackers at the same time.

That’s where Ross Blacklock enters the picture.

Todd McShay has him as the third-best defensive tackle prospect in this year’s class and the potential to make an impact right away. He’s extremely versatile, allowing Pettine to move him all over the line. Green Bay struggled to stop the run and got very little out of its defensive line outside of Kenny Clark. Blacklock would immediately improve that.
