Jalen Reagor is a prime candidate to be selected by the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the NFL Draft. Here are his strengths and weaknesses.

The Green Bay Packers are in need of some top wide receiver talent and TCU’s Jalen Reagor could be the answer.

Outside of Davante Adams, Green Bay has very little at the wide receiver position. Geronimo Allison and Jake Kumerow are underwhelming at best. Marquez Valdez-Scantling flashed a little bit last season but largely disappeared down the stretch. While Allen Lazard has some intriguing potential, he’s probably best suited as the third or fourth receiver on the depth chart.

That’s where the do-it-all Reagor could be the solution. Here are the strengths and weaknesses of his game:

Strengths

Speed: Green Bay is notoriously slow at their skill positions, but Reagor, who ran a 4.47 40-yard dash, would immediately boost the Packers’ speed issue. Not only is he fast, but he accelerates to his top-end speed quickly, allowing him to run past a lot of defensive backs.

Hops: Not only is Reagor fast, but he can jump out of the gym as well. He’s only 5-foot-11, but he has no issue high-pointing the ball with his 42-inch vertical. This allows him to make up for his lack of elite height while still making some contested catches in the end zone.

Homerun Threat: Anytime Reagor gets the ball in his hand he’s a threat to take it all the way. This is exactly what the doctor ordered for the Packers, as they lack playmakers outside of Adams and Aaron Jones. Matt LaFleur would be able to use his creativity to find different ways to get him the ball other than traditional receiving routes.

Weaknesses

Route-running: Reagor, who just turned 21 in January, has some work to do to polish his route running in the NFL. He often loses concentration and gets sloppy in and out of his breaks. This makes him less of a receiving threat than others available around the Packers’ pick. Good thing they have one of the best route-runners in the NFL available to mentor him.

Physicality: For all of Reagor’s physical attributes, he’s not as strong as he needs to be yet. He sometimes struggled to get off the line of scrimmage against more physical cornerbacks in college. He’ll need to work on that at the next level, as corners will be all over him if he can’t show an elusiveness from the snap.
