Ahmad Dixon

If there’s one thing you need to know about Ahmad Dixon it’s that the dude can hit. He is never afraid to come up and stick his nose in a play. Don’t believe me? Take a look at this hit.

And that’s not even close to some of the stuff he did at Baylor. I know that just seeing his highlights of big hits isn’t exactly an in-depth film study, but when there are this many instances of him coming up and making physical plays near the line of scrimmage, I’d say it’s a good bet that it’s a strength of his.

I think all three of these guys have good traits that could carry over to NFL success, but Dixon is the one I would be most excited about coming to Green Bay. He was an electric and explosive player at Baylor in all three of his years starting there.

In his three years as a starter, he totaled 288 tackles and 13 of those for a loss. He was always up in the box making plays as a strong safety and that could translate phenomenally to playing that nickel linebacker spot in the Green Bay Packers’ defense.

He’s also shown coverage ability and a nose for the football, with four interceptions in his time at Baylor including a pick-six, nine passes defended, four fumble recoveries, and three forced fumbles.

In his short time in the XFL with the Los Angeles Wildcats, he made an impact as well. In their shortened five-game season, Dixon was second in the league in total tackles with 44, which is an impressive feat for a safety. If the Packers want to strengthen their base nickel defense with a physical safety, Dixon fits the mold and more.
