All eyes are on the first round of the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft, but who could the Green Bay Packers target in the second round?

The Green Bay Packers hold 10 total draft picks in the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft–seven of their own, a sixth-round pick acquired in an August trade of Reggie Gilbert and two seventh-round picks acquired in separate trades of Ty Montgomery and Trevor Davis. So far, we’ve been focusing mostly on who they might select with their 30th overall pick, but let’s turn our attention to the second round and 62nd overall.

Despite picking toward the end of each round, Green Bay will still have plenty of opportunities to snag impactful players. And they can’t afford to miss if they want to take a step toward the Super Bowl next season.

Depending on what happens in the first round, general manager Brian Gutekunst could wait until the second round to select a wide receiver. This year’s class is deep at the position and it would allow him to address two separate needs if he goes a different direction on Day 1.

As always, there will be lots of moving parts and it’s nearly impossible to predict who will be available when the Packers are on the clock in Round 2. Nonetheless, here are three players they should target with that 62nd overall pick:

Jordyn Brooks, LB, Texas Tech

It’s very possible Green Bay addresses linebacker in the first round as Patrick Queen is projected to be available when they pick and would make an excellent addition. However, if they go in a different direction, the second round would be a perfect time to select an impact player for 2020. Jordyn Brooks would immediately add speed and athleticism to the Packers’ defense–something they’ve been sorely lacking. Unfortunately, he doesn’t always have the best play recognition which might hold him back from being a major contributor in his rookie season, but he’d give defensive coordinator Mike Pettine a lot to work with.

Isaiah Wilson, OT, Georgia

I know picking an offensive tackle with their second round pick isn’t sexy, but it’s a necessity. And look at how well Elgton Jenkins turned out when Green Bay used their second round pick on him last year. No matter what happens with starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga in free agency, Green Bay should look at a tackle early in this year’s draft. They’ll need a replacement plan at some point and could also use depth at the position. Isaiah Wilson is already a very good run blocker and could very well turn into an excellent pass protector as well. He’s worth the upside this high in the draft.

Brandon Aiyuk, WR, Arizona State

As everyone and their mom knows, the Packers desperately need playmakers in the passing game. That’s where someone like Brandon Aiyuk, a fast riser in this year’s draft, could help. He hauled in 65 receptions for 1192 yards and eight touchdowns at Arizona State last year and is a big play waiting to happen. Even if the Packers go with a wide receiver in the first round, they could double down on the position with Aiyuk.
