Another New York Jet makes the list and this time it is Brian Poole, who is coming off of a career year, and could greatly benefit in free agency.

Poole would be an ideal fit for the Green Bay Packers as he played over 600 snaps in the slot last season, so he would easily fill the role that Tramon Williams played in 2019. And on top of that, in addition to being solid in coverage last year, he’s also shown that he can make an impact in the run game as well.

In total, Poole allowed a completion percentage of 62.3 percent, he had one interception, four pass breakups, allowed just one touchdown, and quarterbacks had a passer rating of 71.6 when targeting him. He was also credited with 22 defensive stops, which according to Pro Football Focus, is a tackle that results in a “failure” for the offense. And Poole’s 22 stops were the eighth-most among cornerbacks last season.

Poole is coming off of a one year deal where he made $3 million. And given his performance in 2019, there is the possibility that he could be out of the Green Bay Packers’ price range on the open market.

However, it’s worth pointing out that he did miss two of the final four games with an injury and his performance did dip in the second half of the season. Although I’m not sure if that will have a great effect on what he earns since overall it was a solid season.

But either way, he’s a slot corner that can help in the run game, it’s at least worth Brian Gutekunst picking up the phone and seeing what kind of contract Poole is looking to land.
