If the Packers cut Jimmy Graham in a cap-saving move, they could theoretically target a tight end with their first-round pick. Graham has been a big disappointment throughout his time in Green Bay and his departure is very likely. However, it’s questionable whether general manager Brian Gutekunst would use his top pick on a tight end after selecting Jace Sternberger in the third round last year.

If they do go the direction of tight end, Cole Kmet could be their guy. He’s a two-sport athlete with loads of untapped potential. After only recording 15 receptions for 162 yards in 2018, he exploded onto the scene last year by recording 43 receptions for 515 yards and six touchdowns.

He has really good hands which should be a relief to most Packers’ fans. He’s also an underrated athlete even if he lacks top-end explosiveness. At 6-foot-5, he can combine his good size with his athleticism to give his quarterback a good target. He also has the potential to develop into a good blocker.
