1. Kenneth Murray, LB, Oklahoma

Although wide receiver would be a sexier pick in the first round, the Packers can likely afford to wait at that position given the depth in this draft. At least, a lot more than they can at inside linebacker.

Murray would provide Green Bay with an intimidating presence in the middle of their defense. At 6-2 and 234 pounds, he’s a very physical linebacker who can take on blocks and shed them–something Martinez struggled with. In his final two seasons at Oklahoma, he racked up 257 total tackles including 29.5 of them for loss. He also added 8.5 sacks to his total in 2018 and 2019 combined.

Most importantly for Packers’ fans is that Murray possesses good athleticism. It’s clear Green Bay’s defense needs more of that, as they were severely lacking at certain positions last season. It’s likely Murray is gone well before the Packers are on the clock, but if he’s somehow still there it’s a no brainer for the front office.
