Everyone knows that the Milwaukee Bucks have been the best team in the NBA this season. They’ve been dominant, but there’s a few areas where they can still improve.

The Milwaukee Bucks have been the most dominant team in the NBA this season, and their success in this regular season is very similar to the Warriors that have been atop the league for the last few years.

The Bucks are first in defensive rating, pace, and margin of victory. They are also fourth in offensive rating, while shooting the ball very efficiently with a league-leading effective field goal percentage of 55.6 percent. They are also holding opponents to a league-low 48.5 percent effective field goal percentage.

The biggest criticism of this Milwaukee Bucks squad is that they haven’t played a tough schedule. This is true. They have had the easiest schedule in the league to date. However, Basketball Reference’s Simple Rating System, which takes many things into account, including strength of schedule, has the Bucks solidly atop the league at 10.84. For some context, the next three top teams are the Lakers, Celtics, and Raptors with SRS’s of 7.55, 6.03, and 5.64. There is a large gap here and it has not been by mistake.

The Bucks are stifling opponents and scoring at a high clip which has led to outscoring opponents at a historic rate. Their average margin of victory of 12.11 points per game would rank them fifth in the history of the NBA, ranking them ahead of any Warriors team and just barely behind the 1995-96 Bulls, ’70-71 Bucks, and ’70-71 Lakers. All three of those teams won the NBA championship.

So if they’re a historically great team and accomplishing all of these historic feats, what could make them better? Well, not much, but there are always areas for improvement. Here’s three small things that could improve and make this Milwaukee Bucks team the greatest of all time.
