Bryan Bulaga

Yes, of course Bryan Bulaga is going to be on this list! During his tenure he has caught a lot of flack from Green Bay Packers fans with his injury history, but you certainly can’t deny how effective he has been when he’s on the field. And once again in 2019, Bulaga has shown that he can still compete at a high-level.

While he would have to leave two games with injuries, Bulaga started all 16 games in 2019 and has started 30 of the Packers’ last 32 regular season games. Yes, he does miss time with injuries, but to certain extent it gets overblown by many.

When comparing Bulaga to Jack Conklin, the two had similar results when it came to pass-blocking. Bulaga had 612 pass-blocking attempts and gave up only four sacks, four quarterback hits, and actually allowed fewer total pressures. Not to mention that Bulaga’s run-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus of 80.1 was almost identical to Conklin’s.

However, one big difference between the two is that Bulaga will be turning 31 this offseason and Spotrac has him landing a three-year deal with an average annual value of $10.1 million. Which I think given his play is a fair price.

With that said, I imagine that there will be little dead cap built into the contract in Year 3, just in case the Packers do need to move on from him at that point. And Bulaga does return, drafting his eventual replacement should be high on the to-do list as well.
