Eric Ebron

Speaking of an option who falls in the middle of Austin Hooper and Marcedes Lewis, Eric Ebron is a free agent as well in 2020. During his first season with Indianapolis in 2018, Ebron had a big year with 750 receiving yards, a whopping 13 touchdown receptions and 11.4 yards per catch.

Unfortunately, he would take a step back in 2019 as he finished the season on IR and in the 11 games he did play in, Ebron would total just 375 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Although in fairness, he didn’t have Andrew Luck throwing him the ball.

Like Hooper, Ebron can lineup across the formation, however, he can be inconsistent when it comes to blocking. And take it as you will, but Ebron demanded a trade out of Detroit – which I guess who can blame the guy – and it sounds like his relationship with the Colts isn’t ending on a high note either.

As far as what it could cost to land Ebron, Spotrac is projecting that he earns a four-year contract with an average annual value of $7.4 million. But in all honesty, that seems a bit high to me.

His previous contract with Indy cost less on a per year basis and was for only two seasons, not four. Yes, he had a very nice 2018 season but he’s coming off an injury and down 2019 performance. My guess is that the Packers or whoever signs him can bring him in on a lesser deal than what is being projected.
