While it isn’t the most important position to address this offseason, adding a veteran tight end via free agency should be on the Green Bay Packers’ to-do list.

For a number of years now the tight end position has been a rubik’s cube for the Green Bay Packers. And although I certainly believe they are in good hands with Jace Sternberger moving forward, adding a veteran to the roster for 2020 isn’t a bad idea either.

As it currently stands, Jimmy Graham has likely played his last down as a Packer – and maybe in the NFL – as Green Bay can cut him and save $8 million this offseason. Meanwhile, Marcedes Lewis a pending free agent and we think Robert Tonyan will be back as an exclusive rights free agent.

So assuming Tonyan is back, that leaves the Green Bay Packers with two capable options at the tight end position, but also two young options at a very difficult position. The transition from college to the NFL for tight ends can be daunting and that is where I think there is value in having a proven veteran on the roster as well.

Now with the offseason here and the free agency period not too far off, let’s take a look at a few free agent options at different price levels for the Green Bay Packers.
