The first mock draft of the year for Chad Reuter of NFL.com would be a home run for the Green Bay Packers if rounds one through three fell this way.

The Super Bowl is over, the Senior Bowl has passed, and 2020 NFL mock drafts are being released left and right. With of course, some turning out better for the Green Bay Packers than others.

However, one of the better ones was just released today by Chad Reuter of NFL.com. In his first mock draft of the 2020 offseason, Reuter goes three rounds deep and if the board actually falls this way for Green Bay in April, I will be thrilled.

Round 1, Pick 30: Kenneth Murray LB – Oklahoma

Takeaway: With Blake Martinez on his way out of Titletown, it’s no secret that the Green Bay Packers have to address the ILB position. However, with this year’s class not being very deep, if the Packers have the opportunity to select Kenneth Murray or Patrick Queen of LSU, they shouldn’t hesitate in selecting either player.

As we saw in the NFC Championship game, what Mike Pettine and this Packer defense needs in the middle of the field is more speed and Murray’s sideline-to-sideline range is nearly unmatched. Over his final two years at Oklahoma, Murray would total 257 tackles, with 30 tackles for loss, and 8.5 sacks.

Round 2, Pick 62: Jalen Reagor WR – TCU

Takeaway: In Round 2, the Green Bay Packers land their much-needed talented wide receiver in Jalen Reagor and he’s a player who we’ve seen mocked to them a few other times. Reagor is a very experienced receiver with 39 appearances at TCU and over 2,200 receiving yards at over 15 yards per catch with 22 touchdowns.

Reagor is about as dynamic as they come with a tremendous ability to pickup yards after the catch. Which as we saw in 2019, is something that outside of Davante Adams and Aaron Jones has been lacking in this Packers’ offense.

Round 3, Pick 94: Ben Bartch OT – St. Johns

Takeaway: I’m a big fan of the idea of Green Bay selecting a OT within the first few rounds of the draft that can sit and learn, hopefully behind the eventually re-signed Bryan Bulaga as the heir apparent at right tackle for the Packers.

Enter Ben Bartch who at 6’6″ – 308 pounds has the size and athleticism you want in your starting tackle at the NFL level but he also needs some refinement as well. And behind Bulaga, he would have a year or two with that luxury.
