It’s unclear if the Milwaukee Bucks will make a deal ahead of the trade deadline, but if they do, they could look into these ten players.

With the NBA Trade Deadline just days away—February 6th—the Milwaukee Bucks are busy trying to figure out if it makes sense to upgrade their team via a trade.

Milwaukee, after all, appears to be heads and shoulders above the rest of the Eastern Conference. The Bucks’ biggest competitor coming into the season, the Philadelphia 76ers, looks weaker by the minute. Perhaps, their biggest challenger sits in the Western Conference and will await them in the NBA Finals.

The Bucks don’t have to do anything, as general manager Jon Horst feels he has a very good team on his hands. However, if they decide to roll the dice, here are 10 players they could feasibly look at in a trade:

Jrue Holiday

The Bucks have a legitimate point guard in Eric Bledsoe, but Jrue Holiday might represent one of the only true available upgrades. But even that is a question mark. The New Orleans Pelicans might also be hesitant to ship out their starter considering the eighth seed is in reach and they’re only just beginning to find out what this team looks like with Zion Williamson. However, if those barriers can be crossed, then the two teams might make sense for one another.

J.J. Redick

The first time the Bucks acquired J.J. Redick at a deadline deal it didn’t work out so hot. Hopefully, a second time would be the charm. Looking to avoid a major meltdown from the outside like last year’s Eastern Conference Finals, Redick would provide Milwaukee with an elite outside shooting option. The biggest question mark is who he would defend on defense.

Robert Covington

The cream of the crop, Robert Covington might be the best available and most realistic trade target. He would instantly upgrade the Bucks’ wings and provide them with positional flexibility. Unfortunately, Minnesota’s asking price currently stands at two first-round picks.

Chris Paul

If Milwaukee were to somehow acquire Chris Paul, social media might explode. Although he represents an upgrade over Bledsoe on the court, his contract is a poison pill and would eliminate any financial flexibility for the Bucks in the next three years. Still, it’d be fun to see him and Giannis Antetokounmpo share the court together.

Jae Crowder

Jae Crowder isn’t the same type of player he once was. His reputation as a three-and-D wing precedes him and his outside shooting has basically disappeared this season. Still, he’d give Milwaukee another option to throw at the elite wings they’re sure to see in the postseason.

Bogdan Bogdanovic

Another elite shooter, Bogdan Bogdanovic would cost a pretty penny. But he’d be worth it. He’s an elite outside shooting and secondary playmaker and would fit nicely alongside Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton. The best part is that he’s a restricted free agent after this season and Milwaukee could theoretically retain his services.

Evan Fournier

This may seem odd, but Evan Fournier could potentially be a target for the Bucks. Although he’s a perfect on the court fit, his salary presents an intriguing barrier. He’s set to make $17 million this year and Milwaukee would basically have to ship out Bledsoe, something Horst has said he’s not going to do.

Davis Bertans

The Bucks acquired a sharpshooting power forward at least year’s deadline in Nikola Mirotic. Unfortunately, that acquisition burned them in the worst way possible. Hopefully, it doesn’t scare them from trying a similar move in acquiring another elite outside shooting big in Davis Bertans.

Nemanja Bjelica

Nemanja Bjelica is quietly having a very good season for the Sacramento Kings. He’s another big who can space the floor and play the five in a pinch. If Milwaukee were to acquire him, they’d like ship out Ersan Ilyasova, as the two players are redundant.

Bucks: 3 wishes for the trade deadline. dark. Next

Marcus Morris

Marcus Morris picked a bad time to go on an ill-informed postgame tirade. His comments about Crowder served as a reminder to teams why he’s bounced around the league during his time in the NBA. However, the dude can still play and might be worth a gamble.
