These three players on the Green Bay Packers failed to live up to the hype of their 2019 regular season expectations.

By every account imaginable, the 2019 version of the Green Bay Packers outperformed expectations. Nobody expected them to go 13-3, nonetheless win the NFC North and advance to the NFC Championship game.

Even with all the success, there are some individuals who didn’t hold up their end of the bargain. Although these players may be sparse, here are three guys who failed to live up to the hype of their 2019 expectations.

Geronimo Allison

Even though their weren’t huge expectations cast upon Geronimo Allison’s shoulders, he was expected to produce more than he actually did.

Allison had a fairly successful beginning to the 2018 season before an injury prematurely ended his year. During the first five games of 2018, he hauled in 20 receptions for 303 yards and two touchdowns. Not bad for a first-year starter.

Unfortunately, his 2019 numbers are downright putrid. Despite appearing in all 16 games for the Packers, he only caught 34 passes for a horrid 287 yards and two touchdowns.

Allison certainly wasn’t expected to be a world-beater this season, but averaging more than nine yards a reception would’ve been nice. He struggles to get separation from corners and then struggled to even catch the ball when passes were thrown his way. Not great, Bob.

Montravius Adams

For the second year in a row, Montravius Adams was given the training camp player of the year award. He lit it up in practices and showed off his natural athletic ability that made him a third round pick in 2017.

Unfortunately, he ghosted the regular season for the second straight year as well. After playing 20 percent of the defensive snaps last season, that number actually declined to 18 percent this year according to Pro Football Reference. And that’s even with Mike Daniels vacating a ton of snaps on the line.

Adams has one more year remaining on his rookie contract and it’s likely Green Bay will let him play it out. However, they need a lot more from him moving forward if their defense wants to take another step forward.

Jimmy Graham

Jimmy Graham was general manager Brian Gutekunst’s prize free agent in the 2018 class. Unfortunately, it’s been a major flop.

Graham’s numbers declined even further this season, as he posted 38 receptions for 447 yards (both the lowest since his rookie season) and three touchdowns.

Long gone are the days where Graham is a speed threat down the middle of the field. Now, he’s simply a big body that isn’t always the most reliable. The Packers can save money by cutting him this offseason and I fully expect them to do so.
