MEDAL RESULT | Celebration of the Year

Aaron Jones

Aaron Rodgers

Za'Darius Smith

The Green Bay Packers seemingly had a running competition of who would have the best celebration all year. I kept track of this competition in my weekly awards article and it finally ends with this.

Now, if this were an award for total body of work throughout the season then Za’Darius Smith would run away with it. But it’s only for one single celebration. My personal favorite was his Ray Lewis dance done after Lewis said that the Packers didn’t have a leader in the front seven. Smith responded with two sacks that week, mocking the former Raven’s linebacker. That week, he showed everyone that he’s the real deal and it is not a good idea to poke the bear.

Speaking of poking the bear, DO NOT DO THE AARON RODGERS BELT CELEBRATION MOCKINGLY IN HIS PRESENCE! Oakland Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby learned that lesson the hard way in week seven. He decided the belt would be a good celebration after sacking Rodgers early in the game. Rodgers then threw for five touchdowns and after running one in he did the belt right back. Rodgers may not be the MVP he used to be, but if u make him put his game face on, he’ll bury you for it.

Now at long last, the number one celebration of the year! Aaron Jones waved goodbye to Cowboys cornerback Byron Jones before he crossed the goal line for a touchdown in week five. Usually, I’m not a fan of celebrating early, but this was an exception. He knew he had the angle and took advantage of a great opportunity to give a little extra nonverbal taunt.

Sure he got fined, but I think that just adds to how great of a taunt it was. If you don’t get fined by the league for being cocky are you even doing it right? It was a great moment in the middle of what was a career day in a career defining year for Aaron Jones.
