Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, and Allen Lazard

We all know that the passing game has been an issue all season long and when these teams last met, there were definitely more issues with it then, than what there are right now. For one, this was just before Allen Lazard had really emerged as Green Bay’s No. 2 option for Rodgers and they were still relying heavily on Geronimo Allison. Which as we’ve all seen, isn’t the best option.

It’s also worth noting that this was just Davante Adam’s third game back from his turf toe injury and I still don’t think that he was 100 percent healthy during that game. But over the last four weeks, Adams has been nearly unstoppable.

Since facing the Chicago Bears, Adams has caught 35 of 53 passes for 472 yards with four touchdowns. And of course, this includes his 160 yard performance in the divisional round.

Meanwhile with Rodgers, although he certainly missed some throws that he usually makes against Minnesota and Detroit, he also came up big in the second half of each game when his team needed him. Not to mention that he had what was perhaps his best performance of the season against Seattle, along with a number of vintage Aaron Rodgers throws.

Lastly, as I mentioned above, Green Bay was pretty one-dimensional at receiver during their previous meeting. So hopefully the emergence of Lazard will take even some of the burden off of Adams while also giving Rodgers a second reliable target to lean on.

The 49ers boast one of, if not the best pass defense in the NFL, so by no means will it be easy for the Green Bay Packers. With that said, they are operating at a different level than what they were in Week 12.
