K.J. Hamler WR – Penn State

Even with the success they’ve had this season, the Green Bay Packers’ passing game has largely been inconsistent and a big contributor has been the underwhelming play from the receiver position. Much like we saw GM Brian Gutekunst overhaul the edge-rusher and safety positions during the 2019 offseason, I am expecting much of the same this year at wide receiver.

Enter K.J. Hamler who is about as explosive as they come and a big play threat. Last season he averaged 18 yards per catch and this season he is at nearly 16 along with 858 receiving yards. Hamler also has 11 rushing attempts in 2019 and has been an excellent return man. Which is also a plus for the Packers.

Here is what Jonah Tuls of The Draft Network had to say about Hamler as a prospect:

"“An absolutely electric playmaker in the open field. Creates easy separation in both man coverage and with the ball in his hands. Anytime he touches the ball, it could be a house call. A natural deep threat with his gifted speed, as well as timing and tracking of the ball’s trajectory. Shows a ton of promise and untapped potential as a route runner in the slot.”"
