Green Bay Packers: Draft Prospects to Watch in this Week’s Bowl Games

San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl
Austin Jackson OT – USC
The Green Bay Packers have one of the best offensive line units in the NFL – especially in pass protection – but veteran right tackle Bryan Bulaga is a free agent after the season. My hope is that they bring him back and draft a tackle that can sit and learn behind him for a season or two. However, another option is that they let him walk and move Billy Turner to RT or draft a rookie to fill his place. And while I’d prefer the first option, either way drafting a tackle early in 2020 isn’t a bad idea.
Austin Jackson isn’t quite being talked about as one of the top tackles in this upcoming draft but he is one of those players that has seen his draft stock rise this season and it could continue to go up during the draft process. Jackson has plenty of experience as he has appeared in 14 games as a freshman and has now made 21 consecutive starts at left tackle. If you are yet to see Jackson play, this Friday will be a great opportunity as he goes up against a very good Iowa defensive front.
