3. Packers Wide Receivers vs Redskins Corners

Does everyone remember when Josh Norman was the next great corner in the NFL? He’s since fallen off just a little as he’s now a deep-rotation guy and special teamer. Meanwhile, Green Bay has had a player in Davante Adams that some called a bust early in his career, but he’s quietly developed into one of the NFL’s best wide receivers. Outside of him, someone has to step up for the Packers.

We’ve seen flashes all year from Geronimo Allison, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Allen “Alien Lizard” Lazard, but none of them have been a consistent number two that they can count on. MVS leads that group in yardage thanks to an 18.6 yards per reception average, but Geronimo is the leader in receptions with 28. Adams is going to get his touches, and we know roughly what to expect. However, we need someone else to step up and it could very well be Lazard once again, as we hopefully see him get more opportunities.

For Washington, Quinton Dunbar has been a beacon of hope in a down year. He’s currently grading out as the NFL’s best cornerback per Pro Football Focus, but they don’t have the horses outside of him. If Rodgers can find a matchup that he likes early, he’ll look to target that player, but Green Bay will need to see who they can take advantage of easier whether that’s Jimmy Moreland or Fabian Moreau remains to be seen.
