Just before the Green Bay Packers take the field to play the New York Giants, let’s take a look into the crystal ball and give three bold predictions for today’s game.

Unfortunately the Green Bay Packers are coming off of another loss where they barely put up a fight. However the good news is that they still sit at 8-3 overall, are tied for first in the NFC North and are playing a 2-9 New York Giants team that has really struggled this season.

As I do most weeks, I’ve busted out my crystal ball to take a peak into the future and give my three bold predictions for today’s game. Let’s see what they are and how many I get correct.

Aaron Jones will rush for over 115 yards

For whatever reason during last week’s game in San Francisco, the Green Bay Packers got away from using Aaron Jones once again and during a press conference this week, Matt LaFleur admitted that they needed to get him the ball more.

Following each of their losses this season, the Packers have relied heavily on Jones the following game. Against Dallas and Carolina, he would combine for 32 carries for 200 yards with seven touchdowns and I expect much of the same today in New York. With what looks like sloppy weather conditions and a Giants’ run defense that gives up nearly 118 yards per game, we should see a heavy dose of Aaron Jones.

Defense will force 3 turnovers

Early in the season a big part of the Green Bay Packers’ defensive success was their ability to create turnovers, but as of late they have been much more sparse. However, rookie quarterback Daniel Jones gives them a prime opportunity to force a few mistakes.

In Jones’ 11 starts this season there have been five occasions in which he has been sacked at least four times, so we will hopefully see The Smiths take advantage of the New York tackles and make their way into the backfield quite often. Once there, they will have the opportunity to come away with a fumble as Jones has lost 10 this season, including at least one fumble in five straight games. This pressure from the Green Bay Packers’ defensive front, along with Jones’ just poor decision-making at times should also give the secondary the opportunity for an interception or two as well.

Packers win by 3 scores

If this game isn’t the textbook definition of a ‘get right game’ than I don’t know what is. From the strengths and weaknesses of each team, to the Giants having a number of key injuries, this game sets up well for the Green Bay Packers to dominate.

Tight ends have been an issue for the Packer defense this season, but both Evan Engram and Rhett Ellison are out for the Giants. Green Bay receivers have struggled to produce, well today they get to face a poor New York secondary that will be missing safety Jabrill Peppers. And like I mentioned above, this should be a big day for Jones and the defense will have plenty of chances for sacks and to come away with a turnover.

Next. Packers v. Giants: 3 Burning Questions. dark

After being the Sunday night game on the west coast, it is another long road trip for the Packers and the weather conditions could be a factor at times. But with that said, this is a game that Green Bay should cruise to an easy win.
