Milwaukee Brewers: 10 best free agents available
4. Zack Wheeler, SP
Zack Wheeler is another pitcher the Brewers have been rumored to be connected with in the past and he could potentially pop up again in free agency. He isn’t quite in the same tier as the three guys ahead of him on this list which could make him much more affordable for Milwaukee.
Wheeler is in the midst of his prime and would be a great addition to the staff. The right-hander started 31 games for the New York Mets last season, going 11-8 with a 3.96 ERA. That was a bit higher than 3.31 ERA he posted in the previous season.
Wheeler has a blazing fastball and showed great command last season. He also has a nice curveball. It will likely take a four or five year deal to obtain Wheeler’s services, but it might be worth it.
