6. Josh Donaldson, 3B

The Brewers will likely have a huge hole at third base unless they bring back Mike Moustakas. However, if Moustakas walks, Milwaukee will be in trouble. They probably can’t rely on Travis Shaw to return to form at this point and should look elsewhere.

That’s where Josh Donaldson comes in. It was only four years ago that he won an MVP with the Toronto Blue Jays and returned to form last year with the Atlanta Braves. His 37 home runs were the second-most of his career and he also chipped in 94 RBIs.

He’ll be 34-years-old by the time next season begins which might be okay for the Brewers. It would buy them a couple of years to figure out their long-term plan at third while also giving Donaldson the ability to thrive in an everyday role. He would certainly pack a bunch in the middle of the Brewers’ lineup and help replace what they lost in Grandal and potentially in Moustakas.
