7. Hyun-Jin Ryu, SP

Hyun-Jin Ryu is like a fine wine and continues to get better with age. The left-hander started 29 games for the Los Angeles Dodgers last season and sported a 2.32 ERA. That was the best among regular starters in the National League. He also had a 1.97 ERA in 2018 although it came on only 15 starts.

The major drawbacks for Ryu are his age and injury history. He’s 32-years-old and has battled injuries throughout his baseball career including shoulder and elbow surgeries. That will be a big risk for any team looking to sign him.

However, if Stearns and company want to take a calculated risk, Ryu could be their man. They will certainly have to do their medical homework, but it could pay off in a big way. The Brewers desperately need an arm at the top of their rotation to stabilize their starters. Could they bring Ryu in to do just that?
