20. Pete Vuckovich

We go back to the golden age of Brewers’ baseball for this one. Pete Vuckovich was acquired by Milwaukee via a trade with the Cardinals in December of 1980. A trade that also netted the Brewers two other players who will be coming up on this list.

Vuckovich was a stud in Milwaukee, leading the American League in wins (14) in 1981. Oh, and he won the Cy Young in 1982 by going 18-6 with a 3.34 ERA. He was a huge part of the Brewers’ success and a major reason why they were able to win the AL pennant that season.

Unfortunately, 1982 was the pinnacle of his career, as he tore his rotator cuff in 1983 and was never able to fully recover. If it wasn’t for that injury, he probably would have been much higher on this list.
