5. Christian Yelich

Beginning with No. 5, some of the Dairyland Express staff voted the final players on this list. They each submitted their ballots with the first place recipient receiving five points, the second place guy getting four points and so on. Here are the results.

It was just two short years ago when the Brewers made a franchise-altering deal with the Miami Marlins. The Marlins, who were having a firesale, agreed to send Yelich north in exchange for Monte Harrison, Lewis Brinson, Izan Diaz and Jordan Yamamoto. Advantage Brewers.

Yelich won the MVP in 2018 and likely would’ve done so again in 2019 and he not suffered a fractured knee cap and missed the final month-plus of the season. Before coming to Milwaukee, his career-high for home runs in a season was 21. Well, he’s hit 36 and 44 respectively the last two years.

His batting average and OPS have also popped off the charts coming in at .327 and 1.046 respectively. His 2019 OPS of 1.100 is the best in Milwaukee’s history. Yelich has been a godsend for the Brewers and is easily one of the best trades the Brewers have ever made.
