10. Ben Oglivie

Another player who thrived once he came to Milwaukee, Ben Oglivie didn’t get to the franchise until he was 30-years-old. Traded in 1977 from the Detroit Tigers, the Brewers another key cog for their 1982 Pennant run.

What sticks out the most about Oglivie is the couple of seasons where he went bananas at the plate. In 1980 and 1982, he smacked 41 and 34 home runs respectively. Outside of those two seasons, he only had one other year where he hit more than 25. He ranks seventh in franchise history with 176 home runs as a result and received a few MVP votes in 1980 as a result.

Oglivie made the All-Star game three times in his Brewers’ career and was extremely dependable. He played the final nine years of his career in Milwaukee and experienced the most success there.
