11. Gorman Thomas

An original pick of the Seattle Pilots, Gorman Thomas was taken in the first round of the 1969 draft out of James Island High School in South Carolina. Thomas was a fan-favorite and made his MLB debut in 1973 although it wasn’t until 1978 that he became an everyday starter.

Thomas was most known for his power and hit at least 32 home runs four separate times for the Brewers. His career-best came in 1979 when he belted 45. Surprisingly, he didn’t make the All-Star team that season. His lone appearance in the Mid-Summer Classic came in 1981.

Thomas played for the Brewers until 1983 when he was traded to the Indians. His career came full-circle in 1986 when he finished his final season with the Brewers. Overall, he hit 208 home runs (fifth all-time in franchise history and batted in 605 RBIs (eighth-most) for the franchise.
