What is the biggest difference between the 2018 Lions and the 2019 Lions?

Bob: The most significant difference from ’18 to ’19 is the entire offense and its philosophy.  The Lions finally moved on from former offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter. and what a difference that has made in ’19.  New offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell diagrams plays to move the chains.  Meanwhile, JBC would call a pass play of 4 yards when it’s 3rd and 8.  Bevell is a breath of fresh air.

Takeaway: This certainly does look like a much more effective Lions’ offense this season. They currently rank eighth in total yards per game with 387.5, they are seventh in passing yards per game with 267.0, and they are averaging 24.3 points per game as well. Quarterback Matthew Stafford has also been much more careful with the football and has just two interceptions. With that said, this is a much different Packers’ defense than Detroit has gone up against in the past. While it will still be a tough test, Green Bay is much more equipped to handle Detroit’s playmakers.
