2. Packers’ Cornerbacks vs Lions’ Receivers

This one was close to being number one, but it winds up in the second spot. The Packers cornerbacks have been aided by the pass rush, but they’ve also been playing some excellent football. The team is tied for second in the NFL with seven interceptions thus far, and Jaire Alexander and Tramon Williams are both in the top 30 in NFL corners. For comparison, Detroit only has Justin Coleman within the top 30, although he is up at sixth overall.

Kevin King has had an up and down season thus far, but he has the size and physicality to match up with a bigger receiver like Kenny Golladay, who comes in at 6’4″ and 214 pounds. Green Bay has struggled against those bigger receivers in the past, and King was worked over by Denver Broncos wideout Courtland Sutton back in Week 3. In Week 6, Green Bay needs him to show up when he’s on the field.

Stafford has always liked to take deep shots down the field. He currently ranks second in the NFL in both average intended air yards and average completed air yards. Last week, against Amari Cooper, Alexander got put in the blender on more than one occasion. His mentality allows him to bounce back from mistakes like that, but Marvin Jones, who has torched Green Bay in the past, should give him an easier workload.
