5. Aaron Jones vs Jarrad Davis

In the Aaron Jones’ two best games this season, last week and Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings, the offense was able to get moving while letting him dictate the pace of the game. This week, if the passing game is slowed either by a lack of Adams or Darius Slay being back in the lineup, Green Bay will be relying on Jones to dictate the pace of the game. Against middle linebacker Jarrad Davis, he has an advantageous matchup.

Per Pro Football Focus, Davis’ 29.4 overall grade is the second-worst among qualifying players. The area that he struggles the most is in the passing game, where he has a grade of 29.6, which is tied for the second-lowest among linebackers. Against the Cowboys in Week 5, Jones was a reliable weapon for Rodgers underneath, as he caught seven of his eight targets for 75 yards en route to 182 yards of total offense on the day, which was exactly double the 91 for Ezekiel Elliott.

Jones takes advantage of cutback lanes thanks to his jump-cut ability, and Davis doesn’t have the athleticism that guys like Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esch possess. It will only take a small move for Jones to be able to get past him, and we may even get to see a wheel route up the sideline that has become a staple of so many great offenses in the NFL.
