5. Elgton Jenkins

At the beginning of the season, rookie second-round pick Elgton Jenkins found himself hardly playing. He was sitting behind starting left guard Lane Taylor and didn’t see the field at all against the Bears. He played a little more against the Vikings before starting against Denver following Taylor’s season-ending injury.

He’s now started three straight games and has played every single snap in each of them. And it’s just taken those three games for him to establish a reputation as a very good run-blocker. He’s constantly getting to the second level and putting a body on linebackers. That’s no easy task.

It’s also no surprise running back Aaron Jones has had two games over 100 yards in those three contests as well. After general manager Ted Thompson struggled with some of his high draft picks, it appears Brian Gutekunst hit on his 2019 second-rounder.
