The Green Bay Packers are off to a 4-1 start thanks, in large part, to these five players exceeding expectations up to this point in the season.

Despite a home-heavy schedule to begin the season (three of their first five have been in the friendly confines of Lambeau Field), the Green Bay Packers weren’t expected to be 4-1 at this point in the season. It hasn’t been an easy road, as they’ve defeated both the Chicago Bears and the Dallas Cowboys on the road. However, it’s been an impressive one.

Although the Packers are far from a perfect team, they seem to be making positive strides every week. The offense, especially, looks much improved from a 10-point outing in Week 1 against the Bears. They’ve now scored 27 or more points in three straight contests. That’s a huge improvement from early in the season.

It’s been a bit more of a struggle defensively the last couple of weeks. After dominating against the Bears, Minnesota Vikings, and Denver Broncos, the Philadelphia Eagles and Cowboys have moved the ball much more thoroughly. Fortunately, they’ve continued to take the ball away in all but one game. The offense has also stepped up recently which takes some pressure off the D to perform at a high level consistently. All three units have helped contribute to the fast start thanks, in large part, to these five players exceeding expectations.
