What is the biggest change under new OC Kellen Moore?

Reid: Kellen changed nothing and he changed everything all at the same time. While technically the plays all stayed the same, Dallas uses pre-snap motion on nearly every play to identify coverage. They creatively deploy certain personnel groups (last week they trotted out 31 personnel but split all three TEs out as receivers). They pass the ball on early downs, which previously was considered taboo. And they use play-action more than they ever did before.

Kellen seems to embrace the analytics side of things like Andy Reid and Sean McVay but also has his own strange wrinkles that keep him less predictable. I mean, I’ve studied Kellen’s offense intensely this offseason, including looking back at Moore’s time at Boise State, and I can say I’m not exactly sure what to expect Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. To some extent that’s a very good thing.

*wink, wink* but expect a lot of play-action and a 9 route down the left sideline from Devin Smith.

Takeaway: It sounds like this Green Bay defense needs to be prepared for just about anything and with some key offensive injuries (Davante Adams and Jamaal Williams), the Packers’ defense is going to have to play well in order to help keep this game close. If it ends up being another shoot-out as it was against Philly, I’m not sure the Packers can keep up.
