Will we see more Robert Tonyan?

As of now, we are unsure of Jimmy Graham’s status for Thursday’s game but either way, it is time that the offense gives more snaps to Robert Tonyan. Although many of us were hoping for a bounce-back season from Graham, other than his touchdown reception week one against the Chicago Bears, he has been M.I.A.

We know that Graham struggles as a blocker and unfortunately, that has been on full display this season, but he is supposed to be a difference-maker in the passing game, yet that just hasn’t been the case. Over the last two games, Graham has one target and no receptions. To put it simply, that’s just not acceptable.

Tonyan has averaged just over 17 snaps per game with the offense so far this season and now’s the time for more. While his blocking is still a bit raw, he is a high-effort player and at this point, Tonyan can be a more dynamic player in this passing game than Graham which is something that this offense could really use.
