The Green Bay Packers will look to answer these three burning questions when they take on the Denver Broncos at Lambeau Field in Week 3.

Despite winning their first two games of the 2019 NFL season, there are plenty of question marks surrounding the Green Bay Packers. It’s true, they did defeat their two biggest division rivals in the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings. However, it wasn’t always pretty. In fact, it was rarely pretty.

The defense has done most of the heavy lifting through the first two weeks. They completely shut down the Bears’ offense in Week 1 and held them to three points. They were gashed for some big plays against the Vikings, but forced enough turnovers to hold them to 16 points. It’s been a revelation on that side of the ball.

It’s been the complete opposite on offense. Aaron Rodgers and company had two good drives against the Bears in what was otherwise an abysmal performance. They ended up putting up 21 points against the Vikings, but did little to nothing following their first possession of the second quarter. As they prepare for their Week 3 matchup against the Denver Broncos, we ponder these three burning questions.

Will the defense continue to produce turnovers?

The Packers defense has looked elite so far. Their influx of talent has really stepped up and helped take this unit to the next level. A big reason for that has been turnovers. They only came up with one against the Bears, but it was an Adrian Amos interception that sort of sealed the game late. They were all over the place in Week 2, as they forced four total turnovers (two interceptions and two fumbles) against the Vikings. They’ll look to wreak havoc once again when they take on Joe Flacco and the Broncos. Hopefully, they can give their offense more short fields to work with.

Will someone besides Davante Adams step up in the passing game?

Despite a slow start against the Bears, Davante Adams has been his normal destructive self. He’s hauled in 11 receptions for 142 yards through the first two games. That’s quite impressive considering he’s faced consistent double and triple teams.

Unfortunately, no other receiver has stepped up on a consistent basis for Green Bay. Marquez Valdes-Scantling has shown flashed with his seven receptions for 71 yards. However, if you take out his 47-yarder against the bears, that’s only a four-yard per catch average. After him, running backs Jamaal Williams and Aaron Jones are tied for third with five receptions.

The Packers really need another receiver to show up and present themselves as a threat. Valdes-Scantling and Geronimo Allison are the top two options. We’ll see if they can take a step forward against a successful Broncos’ defense.

Can the Packers’ offense take another step forward?

Speaking of steps forward, the Packers’ offense will look to improve for the second straight week. They dominated the first quarter against the Vikings and scored on their first three possessions. However, they quickly regressed, as they either fumbled, punted or turned the ball over on downs the rest of the game.

The Broncos’ defense isn’t elite as they once were, but they’re still a formidable unit and will present Green Bay with yet another test. The Packers aren’t likely to have a huge breakout game, but if they can take another positive step and move the ball with more consistency it will be a nice progression this week.
