What is your biggest concern about the Vikings after week 1?

Honestly, there weren’t a lot of negatives to take away from the performance of the Vikings in Week 1. Minnesota looked like a team that came to play against the high-powered Atlanta offense and never really let them get off to a fast start. However, that doesn’t mean everything was rainbows and unicorns for the purple and gold.

In fact, there is a major issue when it comes to their depth at cornerback. Mike Hughes missed Week 1 since he was still recovering from injury, Holton Hill is suspended for multiple games and Mackensie Alexander injured his elbow against the Falcons. Plus, Xavier Rhodes was in and out of the game a couple of times to deal with ailments.

One place you don’t want to have a weakness against a quarterback like Aaron Rodgers is in the secondary. Rodgers is known to be able to carve up defenses if he can get some time to pass and Davante Adams can make inexperienced corners look silly. Plus, it’s not like the Packers are the only tough offense Minnesota will face this year, with teams like the Chiefs, Cowboys, Seahawks, and Eagles on the way.

Takeaway: The Green Bay Packers need to focus on establishing the run but once again, they have to face a difficult front-seven in the Minnesota Vikings so an effective passing game is going to be crucial. The Vikings have already determined that Alexander is out and Hughes is doubtful and although Davante Adams will still draw a lot of attention, this should open the door for Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Geronimo Allison to produce.
