Aaron Rodgers will win MVP

Even though the cool thing in sports media right now is to talk about and predict the demise of Aaron Rodgers, I don’t believe that to be accurate at all.

Was last year a down season for him? Of course it was, I don’t think anyone is denying that but he still threw for 4,442 yards, 25 touchdown passes, and only two interceptions. As fans, we should consider ourselves lucky that a season like that is classified as “down.”

The previous offense was clearly stale and predictable along with a roster that had become depleted over the years because of poor drafting and a reluctance to utilize free agency all culminated in Rodgers having to be Super Man every week.

But with a stout defense, a much improved offensive line, and Matt LaFleur calling the plays, Rodgers shouldn’t have to shoulder everything as he has done in years past.

This year he shouldn’t be under as much pressure with the guard positions in better shape and with the running game playing a more prominent role, it should help open up the passing game more. Also, under McCarthy, the offense was built around winning one-on-one matchups but LaFleur focuses on scheming players open which will make their lives as well as Rodgers much easier.

The result of all of this is going to be a rejuvenated Aaron Rodgers that is going to “John Wick the league” as David Bakhtiari so eloquently put it.
