Defensive Line (5)

Kenny Clark, Montravius Adams, Dean Lowry, Tyler Lancaster & Kingsley Keke

The surprising cut of the offseason has already been done. Mike Daniels, who was headed into the final year of his contract, is now with the Detroit Lions. Unless the Packers decide to keep more than five guys, we know who they’re keeping and cutting. Star tackle Kenny Clark isn’t going anywhere, and he could be getting a new contract before the season is out. Dean Lowry signed a new contract, so he’s locked in as well.

After two injury-plagued seasons, Montravius Adams has finally started to show some flashes this preseason. He has good strength and some speed that gives him the ability to push the pocket. As a rotational lineman, he’s a good piece to have. Next, Tyler Lancaster had shown some flashes at the end of last season, and he has continued to produce better than the other reserves throughout this offseason.

Fifth-round draft pick Kinsley Keke gives the Green Bay Packers a decent fifth lineman compared to the guys behind him. He has some athleticism that can give defensive coordinator Mike Pettine the ability to be more creative in his lineups. If I had to pick a sixth lineman I’d want them to keep, it’d be Olive Sagapolu. He was a four-year starter at Wisconsin, and, when you are over 330 pounds and can backflip, who doesn’t want that on that team?
