Defensive Line (5): Kenny Clark, Dean Lowry, Montravious Adams, Kingsley Keke (R), Tyler Lancaster

Practice Squad: James Looney

The first four names on the list are absolute locks for the roster. Clark is a budding superstar, Lowry is as steady as it gets (think Vonnie Holliday 2.0), Adams is emerging as a player, and Keke has been stellar all camp and into the preseason.

The main question is whether they keep five defensive linemen, and who ends up as that fifth guy. Is it Fadol Brown, who had shown flashes of being a good rotation piece before injury hit? How about James Looney, the 2018 Draft Pick who looked good against Houston? Or Tyler Lancaster, the run stuffer, who shined late last year?

Well, Lancaster has the inside track due to his ability to hold the line and his pure strength. Outside of Clark, he’s the only true “run-stopper” on the line. That moves Looney to the practice squad for one more season.

Special Teams (3): Mason Crosby (K), JK Scott (P), Hunter Bradley (LS)

The special teams trifecta continues for at least one year, giving some much-needed consistency to a special teams unit that has seen a lot of turnover on the coverage and return units.

Reports of Crosby’s demise were extremely premature as he has looked very good in camp, and his track record speaks for itself as the Green Bay Packers all-time leading scorer. Scott is looking for consistency from his right leg in year two and so far the minor mechanical adjustments he has made in the offseason have paid off with two strong games so far.

While Hunter Bradley is improving more and more each passing day after a shaky training camp last year. He looks like a keeper at long snapper. Look for Darrius Shepherd to take over as the main kick and punt returner.
