The preseason is half over and the roster is starting to take shape for the Green Bay Packers. With only 53 spots up for grabs, who makes it and who is on the way out?

With the preseason halfway over, the Green Bay Packers roster is starting to take shape. The starters are mostly set in place, the primary backups are starting to emerge, and some camp standouts are transferring their practice moments into the games. For some others, they haven’t been able to move it to the field, which makes building a 53 man roster extremely difficult, especially this season.

This is arguably the deepest the Green Bay Packers have been in a long, long time, and narrowing the current roster to 53 is a daunting task, but we did it. Moving on from some notable names had to be done, but the Packers roster and practice squad will be malleable all season. It’s a herculean task for general manager Brian Gutekunst to make the final decisions for Matt LaFleur’s first roster, but one that has to be done in two weeks nonetheless.

With that all being said, with two weeks of preseason football and training camp practices in the books, here are the first projections for the Packers opening night roster to start the 2019 NFL Season. We’ll go position group by position group, three on offense, three on defense, with the specialists at the end.
