The Green Bay Packers are looking to put on a show in 2019, as their goal is to get back to the playoffs. These four players could put on fireworks.

The Green Bay Packers need a spark from their skill positions in order to have a successful 2019 season. After they were loaded at wide receiver for years with the likes of Greg Jennings, James Jones, Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Donald Driver, among others, they have taken a few steps back in talent level across the board. This has made life more difficult for Aaron Rodgers especially as he’s gotten older.

The skill level at those crucial positions isn’t expected to take a huge leap heading into this season, but they certainly have some talented players at every position. The challenge will be playing to their guy’s strengths and putting them in the best position to succeed.

That’s where new head coach Matt LaFleur comes in. Fans hope he brings creativity and freshness to an offense that expired long ago. If he can do that, big things are ahead. Especially for these four players who are sure to put on a fireworks show of their own this season.

Aaron Jones

Jones has struggled with injuries throughout his first two seasons, but he has every tool in the book to have a productive season, as long as he’s on the field. LaFleur loves to lean on his run game and even feature it. Hopefully, Jones won’t be buried on the depth chart and limited in action like he was last year.

If Jones is set free, expect big things from the third-year running back. He’s shifty and elusive and has a knack for big plays. His vision is also spectacular which allows him to see the entire field. The opportunities will be there for Jones and it’ll be up to him if he can capitalize on them.

Geronimo Allison

Allison appears to be the number two receiver behind Davante Adams. He began last season in that same role, but missed the last 11 games due to an injury. And he was on a tear to start the season. In just five games, he grabbed 20 receptions for 303 yards and two touchdowns. It may not seem like a lot, but it was a career-high in yards and touchdowns for Allison.

Now fully healthy, he’ll be able to jump back into his number two role. Adams will continue to get all the attention which should make life somewhat easier for Allison. If he can win one-on-one battles, look out.

Jaire Alexander

Alexander has all the physical tools to be an excellent slot corner. He’s fast, quick, and very intelligent. His only downfall is his height (5-foot-10). Regardless, he had a knack for the big play last season when he picked off one pass, defended 11 more and forced and recovered two fumbles. Green Bay will need more of the same from him in 2019, as their defense looks to take the next step and become a top-five unit.

Davante Adams

Adams is the only offensive star the Packers have besides Rodgers. At 26-years-old, he’s quickly established himself as a top receiver in the entire NFL. That’s an amazing accomplishment for the sixth-year man out of Fresno State.

Last season, he had a career-high in receptions (111), receiving yards (1386) and reception touchdowns (13). Those are spectacular numbers all across the board and ones he’ll be looking to repeat in 2019. It’s a doable task for Adams who will receive all of the defensive attention. However, he’s skilled enough and smart enough to consistently beat defenses and give Rodgers a go-to target on any play.
