Milwaukee Bucks: Pros and cons of trading for Chris Paul
The Houston Rockets have recently made everyone on their roster available for trade. Could the Milwaukee Bucks explore acquiring Chris Paul?
The Milwaukee Bucks seemingly have their offseason mapped out ahead of them and it mostly pertains to them keeping their own guys. That makes sense after all considering the amount of success they had last season. They won 60 games, breezed through the first two rounds of the playoffs and then won the first two games in the Eastern Conference Finals. Unfortunately, they lost their final four games and were quickly eliminated.
Now, the Bucks turn their attention to the offseason where they have plenty of decisions to make. They re-signed Eric Bledsoe to a contract extension during the season, but that doesn’t mean there don’t have a shortage of their own free agents.
Starters Malcolm Brogdon (restricted) and Brook Lopez (unrestricted) are free to test the market this summer. Nikola Mirotic is also free to hit free agency. Khris Middleton will assuredly decline his $13 million player option and the Bucks will just as likely waive George Hill to clear $17 million off their books. All in all, that leaves five crucial players that could switch teams.
As busy as the Bucks’ offseason will be, the Houston Rockets are another team who could have a busy summer ahead. They have reportedly made everyone not named James Harden available, including nine-time All-Star Chris Paul. It’s highly unlikely the Bucks swing for Paul, but let’s take a look at the pros and cons of acquiring the Point God.
