Cornerback (6)

Kevin King, Jaire Alexander, Josh Jackson, Tramon Williams, Ka’dar Hollman, Tony Brown

I absolutely love what Gutekunst has done with this unit, as the Green Bay Packers have come a long way since starting Ladarius Gunter at cornerback in an NFC Championship game two years ago. I do believe that this can be one of the better cornerback units in the league, but health is a concern, which is why I feel that depth is needed.

King hasn’t made it through a full season and Jaire missed some time last season as well. Jackson struggled for much of his rookie year, but he also wasn’t put into the best position to succeed as he was asked to play a lot of man coverage when zone is what he does best.

Tony Brown was a surprise signing early into the season, but he was able to show some playmaking ability and I expect he will see significant playing time this season. I was also glad that they decided to add another cornerback in the draft for depth, and while Hollman may be a bit raw, he has the measurables and athletic ability to be a solid player at the position.

With the inevitable injuries that always seem to happen to the Green Bay Packers’ secondary, I thought it was important to carry six cornerbacks this year, rather than five as they did in 2018.
