Con: Injury concern

Injury concerns are always brought up around this time of the year. As part of the whole process that includes athletic testing, a physical is also included. NFL team doctors are able to fully evaluate prospects and determine their physical health.

Unfortunately, Gary hasn’t passed that test:

Ian Rapoport also reported that it was discovered that Gary has a torn labrum from college. He should be able to play in the 2019 season, but will likely require surgery next year that will limit his offseason workouts.

Next. Packers take chance on Rashan Gary. dark

That’s a huge concern, as who knows what will happen during his rookie season. He already requires surgery and there’s still his whole first season of football to play. However, the Packers must have inside information on this and know something we don’t. At least, we can only hope as they used their first pick in the draft on Gary and his injured shoulder.
