Con: Lack of production

As good as Gary has been on the field, his on-the-field production hasn’t lived up to the hype. Gary only recorded 9.5 sacks in three years at Michigan. He also accrued 23 tackles for loss. That’s an extreme disappointment considering his athletic ability.

His lack of production has been a point of confusion for scouts all along. Gary appears to take plays off and pick and choose when he wants to play hard. This is unacceptable at any level and especially won’t stand in the NFL.

After an above-average sophomore season where he racked up 5.5 sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss, Gary took a step back in his junior year. He recorded fewer sacks and tackles for loss. Overall, this lack of production is concerning and a red flag. If his production was anywhere near his athletic ability, he’d have gone a lot higher.
