The Green Bay Packers enter the 2019 season with a new head coach and offensive scheme. If health isn’t an issue, the Packers should bounce back this year.

The NFL released all 32 team’s schedule for the 2019 season on last week, and the Green Bay Packers got a very forgiving first half of the season. They play five of their first seven games at home. However, the second half of the season will be tough as six of their last nine will be on the road. Keeping as much of my cheesehead bias aside and barring any catastrophic injuries, I present the the best case record prediction for the Packers’ 2019 season.

Week 1 at Chicago Bears

I wake up every day wishing it was the opening game. This rivalry has certainly been renewed as the Chicago Bears are now legitimate contenders in the division. Going on the road to Chicago is always tough, and it seems no matter what the Bears’ record is at the time, they play the Packers like it’s the franchise’s final game.

Rodgers decimated the Bears top ranked defense in 30 minutes on a broken leg in last year’s opener, and the Packers defense will only continue to get better as it grows in Mike Pettine’s scheme. Even though Matt Nagy is a brilliant coach with a good offensive mind, I just don’t see the Bears offense as anything daunting; especially after trading away Jordan Howard.  They’ll get their share of big plays and try and get creative with speedy Tarik Cohen, but I see the Packers storming into Soldier Field and making a statement the first game of the season.
