Notable Players Available: A.J. Brown, Jerry Tillery, Dalton Risner

T.J. Hockenson may be the best tight end prospect in this class in terms of blocking and receiving ability. However, as a pure receiver, none present the mismatch opportunities that Fant does. Fant’s combination of size and speed give off the vibes of Zach Ertz and George Kittle, another former Hawkeye. With Jimmy Graham and Marcedes Lewis only around for one more year, Fant gives a clear transition for the future, along with a possible contributor in year one.

I’m ecstatic with the draft up to this point. Frankly, I don’t need to make another pick and I’m thrilled with the haul that the Packers have acquired over the weekend. Burns is the second-best edge rusher on my board. Fant is the best tight end and a top-10 prospect for me. He brings a dynamic talent that the Green Bay Packers have not had since the days of Jermichael Finley in his prime. He gives Aaron Rodgers a threat over the middle of the field and could make an instant impact on day one.

Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, S – Florida

Notable Players Available: N’Keal Harry, Nasir Adderley, Erik McCoy

Rarely have I seen CGJ make it to 30 so this was too good to not take advantage of. Gardner-Johnson is a true center-field safety with excellent range and a willing tackler with solid technique. Line him up in the box, in the slot, or deep, he can play multiple positions just as he did at Florida. He would compliment Green Bay’s latest safety addition Adrian Amos quite well.

Noah Fant, TE – Iowa

Notable Players Available: Daniel Jones, Josh Jacobs, Nasir Adderley, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, A.J. Brown

If the Green Bay Packers had a true tight end of the future, this pick would’ve been A.J. Brown, but it’s such a need for the team that Noah Fant is the only option here. First round tight ends are a risk because the position isn’t as valuable as others historically, but Fant has everything you want in a starting tight end. He’s got the size, speed, hands, and route running to make a difference in the middle of the field. Plus, he’s not a bad blocker either. He’s the perfect guy to bring in and learn under a future Hall of Famer like Jimmy Graham for a year before taking over as the undisputed starter in 2020. It’s a perfect scenario for Brian Gutekunst and Matt LaFleur.
